Sustainable energy is the driver of modern development. Availability of adequate, reliable, sustainable and cost-effective energy is important for the socio-economic development of any nation. International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) in conjunction with Nigeria Energy Commission (NEC) demonstrated how renewable energy technologies are going to be used under Transforming Energy Scenarios (TES) to achieve a sustainable energy mix and meet the growing needs of the country.
Given Nigeria’s progress in this regard, G5EngAss is ready to work with both Government and Private clients to identify development options for scaling- up their sustainable energy supply thereby contributing to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the country. Here we render full project support from FEED to Operations and Maintenance Services in Renewable Energy Projects.

INNOVATIONS IN DEVELOPING RENEWABLE ENERGY PROJECTS
Some of the action options that are available for scaling-up developments are as follows but not limited to these, as identified and assessed in the Nigeria Renewable Energy RoadMap:
INTEGRATED ENERGY TRANSITION PLANNING - This is by setting up a cross-cutting body, developed for coherent planning and achieving a higher share of renewables across the energy sector.
SWEAT EQUITY – This is to attract foreign and domestic direct investments with a targeted focus on renewables and de-risking investments .
SHIFTING LOCATION - This is by drawing Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) based on site specific power generations.
STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS - This is by developing partnerships with the Central Bank of Nigeria, Rural Electrification Agency and original equipment manufacturers (OEM) for increased electrification and research and development.
Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) - This involves developing financing mechanisms for distributed renewables and technologies such as microfinance.
CHANGE FROM O&M (OPERATION & MAINTENANCE) TO S&M (SERVICING AND MAINTENANCE) - This involves role changing during the life of the projects.
NEW PLAYERS - This Optimises access to affordable power and clean energy and promotes local content participation know-how across the value chain ·
Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage (CCUS): This invloves Capacity building through Workshop on facilitating Nigeria's Energy Transition through CCUS Development.
